Code Of Conduct For Students

1. The observance of rules of discipline and good behaviour is essential to a student’s continuance in the School. The decision of the Principal / HM is final and binding on all students in respect of rules / instructions framed for discipline and good behaviour.

Forbidden Practices. No student to indulge in any of the following:

(a) Disfiguring / damaging any School property.

(b) Smoking in / around School premises.

(d) Carrying or using mobiles, iPod, iPad, laptops or any other video, electronic and communication devices in the School premises.

(e) Use of drugs or intoxicants, except the prescription of a registered medical practitioner.

(f) Chewing of betel leaves, tobacco, gutka, pan masala, chewing gum etc. in the School premises.

(g) Rowdy or rude behaviour.

(h) Use of violence in any form and ragging/eve-teasing or passing lewd comments.

(i) Practice of untouchability or advocating of its customs, communalism or any such social evils.

(j) Being in possession of or viewing / reading / screening / sharing / forwarding any kind of pornographic / inappropriate material by SMS/email or any other medium. They are not to discuss or criticize the School or their teachers or any School staff/authority on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media.

(k) Indiscipline involving fighting/theft/any other act which may bring disrepute to the student/School or to the Air Force in general.

(l) Driving a two/four wheeler to School without a valid driving licence and helmet (in case of two-wheelers).

Absence from School

No student who has been absent on the previous day will be allowed to attend class unless her/his parent has entered an explanation stating the reasons for the absence, in the ‘Record of Non-Attendance’ section of the almanac, for each day the student has been absent from school. In case a child reports to school without an explanation in the almanac, then the parents will be summoned to school and the child will be sent back home.
There is no provision for half-day leave, except in cases of extreme emergency with the permission of the Principal. So students who are not well should not be sent to school even on exam/test days. Further, appointments with Doctors, etc. must not be arranged during school hours.
Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school:

Whooping Cough	Till the doctor certifies fit	Not > 20 Days
Hepatitis	Till the doctor certifies fit	Not > 20 Days
Corona	Till the doctor certifies fit	Not > 07 Days

Parents are requested to co-operate with the school and not send children till the quarantine period is over.
In case of absence of more than five days on Medical Grounds, the Medical Certificate and prescription shall be attached along with the application on return of the student to the school after such leave.
Students who require medical attention during school hours may be sent to the SMC by the teacher concerned.
Parents will be promptly informed in the event of serious illness or emergencies and may be requested to come to school to take their ward home if necessary.

Repeated absence without notice or unexplained absence, without a written application for more than five consecutive working days, renders the student liable to have her/his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may only be granted after payment of a re-admission fee.
All students are expected to attend school on the opening day immediately following the vacations. Absence on the day of reopening of the school will attract strict disciplinary action.
It is compulsory for students to have 90% attendance in each term in order to be eligible to take the end-of-term assessment.
This stipulation can only be relaxed on genuine medical grounds, at the sole discretion of the Principal.
Absence for more than 10% of the total number of working days may result in detention of the child in the same class. On medical grounds too, a student cannot remain absent for more than 20% of the total working days.

Late Arrival in School

Students are expected to reach school 10 minutes before the start of the school. Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school premises without a plausible explanation.
Arriving late for school is not acceptable. Students found to have come late for more than one day in a term will not be allowed to attend classes on the second such occurrence, and disciplinary action shall be taken against them.

IMPORTANT NOTES TO PARENTS

Special attention should be given to ensure a high standard of morality and discipline.
This can be done by:

Assisting and guiding your ward in doing their homework.
Depositing tuition fees as per the rules.
Ensuring that your ward comes to school in a neat, clean and tidy uniform.

Don’t force the authority for exemption.

Ensuring that the child does not carry valuable things to the school.
Monitoring the regularity and performance of your ward.
Ensuring that the child does not come to school if he/she is suffering from an infectious disease.
Discouraging your ward from taking long leave without prior permission or intimation to the class teacher.
Responding immediately to communications from the school through telephone, mail, SMS or written intimation.
Ensuring your presence at the regular PTA/PTM meetings held in the school.
Establishing a sense of trust and faith in the school to look after your ward’s well-being.
Informing the school of any change in contact number or address.
Ensuring a safe mode of transport for your ward.
